Panama obtains the Safe Travels seal from the WTTC
Certifies the country as a destination that complies with biosafety protocols with international standards in prevention against COVID-19
The WTTC Safe Travels seal will be awarded to companies and service providers of the tourism industry through the National Chamber of Tourism (CAMTUR), in due coordination with the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP), as it is a requirement It is mandatory that the national protocols established by the Ministry of Health (MINSA) and the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development (MITRADEL) are first complied with.
For the general administrator of the ATP, Iván Eskildsen, obtaining this seal granted by the WTTC "is an essential element to generate confidence in travelers in the current context, in the process of attracting tourists from different countries; once achieved this sense of trust, then we will be able to attract them by reinforcing our strategy of differentiation and innovation, offering authentic tourist experiences, based on our natural and cultural heritage ".
For his part, the president of CAMTUR, Ernesto Orillac, said that "it is important to certify our destination and products with the Safe Travels seal, since it allows both national and foreign travelers to feel safe when planning their trips to places that have adopted hygiene and health protocols, standardized worldwide, so that they can obtain an unforgettable and very safe experience ".
Given the right granted to Panama to implement the use of the Safe Travels seal to promote safe destinations on biosafety issues internationally, the WTTC will publish the list of companies that comply with the standards in its communication channels.
