PROMPERÚ appoints Amora Carbajal as Director of Tourism Promotion
The official has more than 15 years of experience in the sector and in foreign trade
The Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ) appointed Amora Diana Carbajal Schumacher as the new director of tourism promotion, through Executive Presidency Resolution No. 000002-2021-PROMPERU / PE.
The official has more than 15 years of experience in the tourism and foreign trade sectors, is a lawyer by profession and has completed master's studies at the Institute of Social Studies of the Erasmus University of Rotterdam (Netherlands), with a specialization in Politics Development Alternatives.
Carbajal Schumacher served as PROMPERÚ's commercial economic advisor in the Netherlands, with scope of action in Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Luxembourg, between September 2019 and December 2020; and as commercial economic advisor in the Peruvian offices in Italy (2014-2019), Canada (2018), Dubai and South Africa (2017-2018).
In the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism, he was also in charge of the National Directorate of Tourism (2010-2013) and the National Directorate of CENFOTUR (2013). In addition, she was an advisor to the Directorate for the Promotion of Tourism (2010) and legal advisor to the National Directorate of Crafts (2004-2006).
Between 2008 and 2009 he was a gastronomic tourism specialist at PROMPERÚ. Since 2017, she has been called as an exhibitor for the Master of Gastronomic Tourism of the Basque Culinary Center, a responsibility that she assumes until now, and facilitator of the course Gastronomy as a tool for tourism competitiveness, at the World Tourism Organization (2012-2013).
