Panama approves application of transitional measures for travel agencies


The operational continuity of agencies will be ensured and clients who made payments for packages canceled due to the health crisis will be protected
Bill 388, which establishes transitory measures related to travel agencies, in order to maintain the survival of this item of the tourist economy, has been approved by the Legislative Assembly.
Deputy Raúl Fernández presented the initiative on the grounds that two important actors are safeguarded in the reactivation of Panama's development, tourists and travel agencies.
The document states in its articles that if the consumer decides to reschedule or use the corresponding credit under different conditions than the original contract, they must assume the rate differences that said change produces.
The Authority for Consumer Protection and Defense of Competition, ACODECO, shall oversee compliance with the provisions established in this law.
