Carnival Cruise Line prepares the debut of its next Excel-class ship
Carnival Celebration is scheduled to begin sailing from the Port of Miami in November 2022
Carnival Cruise Line performed the traditional steel cutting of a new Celebration ship at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland. The firm prepares its debut for November of next year.
Like the Mardi Gras ship, Carnival Celebration will also include BOLT, the first roller coaster at sea, along with unique design features created specifically for this ship, and exclusive new locations that will be specific to this ship.
Following the ceremony attended by Ben Clement, Carnival Senior Vice President of New Builds and Tim Meyer, CEO of Meyer Turku, work began on the Carnival Celebration.
“The ceremony marks the beginning of another exciting chapter for Carnival Cruise Line. Carnival Celebration will not only feature exclusive Mardi Gras amenities, it will also usher in a new era for the company with some special innovations created just for her that we are sure our guests will enjoy, ”said Christine Duffy, Carnival President Cruise Line. "We are equally excited about the role of the carnival celebration in our 50th anniversary festivities, which will be an unforgettable way for our fans to mark this exciting milestone in the history of our firm."
The incorporation of Carnival Celebration to Miami will maintain the position of the Port of Miami as the main one of the shipping company.
The Carnival 50th anniversary festivities kick off in March 2022, the company's birthday month, with a series of commemorative trips featuring entertainment and special itineraries.
