The Guatemalan Tourism Institute continues to support the tourism sector in the current health context. On this occasion, free virtual trainings will be offered


INGUAT will provide free virtual business training where 7 community projects from different tourist regions of the country will be announced.

The Director General, Mynor Cordón pointed out "The main objective of the virtual talks is that the tour operators registered in the INGUAT participate and have direct contact with representatives of community projects to expand the offer and tourist services for national and international visitors."

For the first phase of these meetings this year the following projects will be announced:

Region: Petén, Adventure in the Mayan World

  • February 2nd

Guacamayas Biological Station and Waka Peru Archaeological Site by the Paso Caballos Tourism Association (ATUPAC).

Region: Guatemala, Modern and Colonial

  • February 9

Luis de Lión Cultural Center, San Juan El Obispo.

Region: Altiplano, Living Mayan Culture

  • February 16th

Tzunún Ya Museum, San Pedro La Laguna and Sabor Cruceño, Santa Cruz La Laguna.

  • 23 of February

Igualdad Falls by La Igualdad Community, San Pablo, San Marcos.

Region: Pacific, Magical and Diverse

  • March 2nd

At Tzintalli by community guides from El Asintal, Retalhuleu and Finca Chorro del Carmen, Zunilito, Suchitepéquez.

Region: Izabal, Caribe Verde

  • March 9

Gastronomy and handicrafts in Livingston and Puerto Barrios by the Association of Women Entrepreneurs - Afrocaribe Association.

Region: Verapaces, Natural Paradise

  • March 16

Caves of Setzol, Caves of Candelaria Camposanto in Raxruha and Balneario Las Conchas de San Agustín Cahal.

In the edition of the virtual community meetings of the previous year, around 800 people participated and 16 projects were exhibited. This activity is organized by the Marketing Department with the support of the Regional Delegates.

Currently, around 276 tourism service providers in the regions have obtained the Tourist Biosafety Seal, who seek to provide visitors with safe experiences, complying with biosafety protocols and all the recommendations of the Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance.
