Costa Rica continues to recover its connectivity with key markets
IBEROJET will fly twice a week from Madrid to San José from June 2021
The steps taken by the Costa Rican Institute of Tourism to attract airlines will allow the IBEROJET airline to establish two direct weekly routes from Madrid, Spain to the Juan Santamaría International Airport as of June.
IBEROJET is the new name for the airlines of ÁVORIS, the travel division of the BARCELÓ GROUP, its arrival will ratify the efforts made by the ICT for the sake of economic recovery after the crisis that has caused the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The arrival of new airlines in the country is of enormous importance to continue with the recovery of tourism, generate more jobs and activate the industry chains; Despite the global pandemic, Costa Rica maintains its position as one of the most liked destinations, ”said the Rector Minister of Tourism, Gustavo J. Segura.
The IBEROJET announcement is part of an ambitious flight program to cover the main vacation destinations in the Caribbean and Central America, with up to 25 weekly departures to Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Jamaica and Costa Rica from Spain or Portugal.
The flights will be made on Airbus A350 and A330 aircraft, which significantly reduce the environmental impact, while improving the flight experience of its passengers, thanks to the comfort of their cabins.
