NH Hotel Group recognized for its sustainability performance
The hotel chain has been distinguished as the third most sustainable company in the world within the hotel sector in the Sustainability Yearbook 2021 published by S&P Global
NH Hotel Group has received the Bronze distinction for its excellent sustainability performance. In addition, it has also been awarded as an Industry Mover by registering the greatest improvement in its ESG assessment over the previous year in the hospitality sector.
S&P Global has evaluated more than 7,000 companies from 61 sectors around the world in economic, environmental and social matters, and has included 24 Spanish companies. Within the hotel sector, 46 companies have been evaluated, of which only 6 companies have been included, with NH Hotel Group being recognized as the third most sustainable hotel chain. The report highlights that, going forward, "sustainability will be even more critical to attracting customers, improving product offerings and engaging more actively with stakeholders." Likewise, he remarks that "the preservation of the environment, the increased interest in ecotourism and volunteer tourism have created new business opportunities."

In Latin America, actions associated with the culture 'Citizenship mindset' were carried out, that is, the mentality of contribution to citizenship. For this reason, the “Sharing Smiles” project was developed in line with “Together with love”, a Corporate Volunteer initiative that is part of the NH Hotel Group philosophy. The activity aimed to bring Christmas sweets and joy to more than 30 homes or picnic areas, around 5000 children with the participation of chefs and managers of 53 hotels in the region.
