The 18-month celebration event will offer new experiences in the four theme parks of the complex

On October 1, 1971, Walt Disney World Resort officially opened its doors to visitors for the first time; the culmination of years dedicated to imagining, planning and developing Walt Disney's magical dream. During these five decades, this vacation destination has continued its expansion with new stories, characters and adventures that can be cherished for a lifetime. And now that a major milestone is looming, visitors can be a part of "The World's Most Magical Celebration," which will begin on October 1, 2021, in honor of the resort's 50th anniversary.
The 18-month celebratory event will offer new experiences in the resort's four theme parks and beyond, featuring shimmering iridescent décor as if by magic. Shining as the centerpiece, Cinderella's Castle at Magic Kingdom Park will add to its majestic 2020 transformation, gold pennants, sparkling gold decorations, and other new enhancements, including a 50th anniversary crest that gives a warm welcome to all. visitors to join in the festivities.
Symbols of Magic in the four Walt Disney World theme parks
As part of “The World's Most Magical Celebration,” the icons in each Walt Disney World theme park will transform each night into magnificent Symbols of Magic, coming to life with their own iridescent glow.
  • Cinderella's Castle will illuminate the Magic Kingdom with a dazzling glow that gives it the glow of fairy frost.
  • At Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park, warm light will emanate from the Tree of Life as magical fireflies gather to give way to the magic of nature.
  • The Hollywood Tower Hotel at Disney 's Hollywood Studios will be covered in glitter that evokes the shimmering golden age of imagination and adventure.
  • At EPCOT, new lights will shine through Spaceship Earth's reflector panels, connecting with each other as a symbol of optimism that resembles the stars in a night sky. The new permanent lighting of the iconic structure will continue beyond “The World's Most Magical Celebration” as a definitive feature of the park.
Mickey and Minnie: Dresses for the occasion
Hosting "The World's Most Magical Celebration," Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their friends will be sporting sparkling new styles, custom designed for this special occasion. The highlights of these celebratory designs include beautifully embroidered prints of Cinderella's Castle with fireworks, as well as a multi-hued iridescent weave brocade, all dotted with touches of gold.
Along with Mickey and Minnie, the cast members of Walt Disney World will be the stars of this event. They will demonstrate, once again, why they are famous for their commitment to service, continually exceeding visitor expectations by exceeding them and going the extra mile to make visits to the Most Magical Place in the World special.
