Mon April 05, 2021

The event organized by ASONAHORES, MITUR and CATA will be held on April 8 at the Hotel Meliá Caribe Beach Convention Center, Punta Cana

The Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (ASONAHORES) in close relationship with the Ministry of Tourism (MITUR), and with the support of the Central American Tourism Promotion Agency (CATA, for its acronym in English) refine details for the realization of the Innovation + Tourism Talk - Dominican Republic Edition.

This edition of the Innovation Talk has been conceptualized with the purpose of strengthening the competitiveness and innovative capacity of the tourism sector, as well as intelligently transforming the tourism proposal in the new scenario caused by the pandemic.

The event will be held on April 8, 2021 at the Hotel Meliá Caribe Beach Convention Center, Punta Cana, with the participation of businessmen from the Dominican Republic, who will obtain from experts from the world travel industry such as Expedia, CEPM and Moreturismo International all the necessary tools to guarantee its adaptability based on the trends and behavior of the industry in times of tourist reactivation.

Among the topics to be developed are Digital and robotic transformation for the rebirth of a new hotel sector, A look at the future of travel from the United States and Canada markets to the Dominican Republic, as well as Innovation and sustainability: energizing the future of tourism .

The Dominican Republic is one of the countries in the region that has stood out for the power it has injected into the process of reopening the destination to receive international travelers. Proof of this is that it has eliminated the requirement for the PCR test of COVID-19, as of April 1 it has implemented a single form to enter the country called E-ticket. In addition, this destination has the Safe Travels seal granted by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).

For its part, CATA continues to work to improve knowledge, support the development of human capital, facilitate technological infrastructure improvement processes, promote accelerated digital transformation, build resilience and work on containment plans in the face of new challenges.
