The Mexican airline thus improves pre-COVID-19 demand levels


Viva Aerobus, Mexico's ultra-low-cost airline, exceeded one million passengers in March 2021, a growth of 67.7% compared to last February. Compared to March 2020 - the month when the pandemic began to affect passenger demand - an increase of 27.3% was also achieved. It also stands out that this number of passengers was 28.6% higher than the number of passengers registered in March 2019, even improving pre-COVID-19 demand levels.

For its part, the load factor was 84.8%, 8.2 percentage points more than in February 2021 and 4.3 percentage points more than the same month last year.

“This March, more than a million passengers chose us as their flight option, with the confidence that at Viva Aerobus we pay special attention to their well-being by offering a safe, flexible and low-priced transportation option that takes care of health and economy. of all our passengers ", mentioned Juan Carlos Zuazua, General Director of Viva Aerobus.

Under this commitment to offer reliable and low-cost connectivity, Viva Aerobus inaugurated its regular Acapulco - Cancun route in March and launched the new León - Houston and León - San Antonio international routes for sale. As a result of this growth strategy, Viva made available to passengers this March a capacity, measured in seats per available kilometers (ASKs), greater than that offered both in February 2021 (+ 50.77%) and in March 2020 (+ 21%).

Finally, joining efforts for the health of all and as a result of the comprehensive prevention and hygiene plan 'Viva Contigo', the airline signed a strategic alliance with Laboratorio Médico Polanco, Laboratorios Ruiz and Grupo Diagnostico Aries to offer its passengers preferential prices in tests rapid antigen tests or PCR tests for the detection of COVID-19.
