WTM Latin America presents Responsible Tourism Award
The event's digital channels open a space for the finalists to provide details about the selected projects. The awards will take place on April 29
On April 29, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., WTM Latin America, promoter of the Responsible Tourism Award, holds the award ceremony for the winners of the 1st edition. The award closes the month dedicated to Responsible Tourism, in which the WTM Latin America digital channels present a series of content on the experiences, benefits and challenges that the finalist projects face. The ceremony will be exhibited on the WTM GlobaWTMl Hub platform.
In the midst of the pandemic, the Responsible Tourism issue makes even more sense within the tourism industry, and opening space to debate and present successful initiatives is the proposal of WTM Latin America. Therefore, as of April 7, the finalist projects of the award will be highlighted in the digital channels of WTM Latin America, with pills on the initiatives.
For WTM Latin America Marketing Manager, Thais Del Ben, having a month dedicated to Responsible Tourism reinforces the commitment and positioning of the event in working and promoting best practices. “We need our industry to be increasingly aligned with initiatives that value responsible actions, that care about future generations and the survival of our chain. And we, as content providers and disseminators of good practices, support, encourage and recognize these achievements ”, he affirms.
The month's programming will end with the revelation of the Gold and Silver Winners in the four categories available to compete for the award: Best contribution to the preservation of wildlife; Best attraction of cultural heritage; Best in poverty reduction and inclusion; and Best destination for responsible tourism.

We are very satisfied with the results and eager to reveal the big winners ”, he concludes.
The Responsible Tourism theme was always in the DNA of the WTM portfolio events. WTM London, WTM Africa and ATM, in Dubai, already promote actions to recognize responsible initiatives. And the Latin American event, for its part, always brought the issue to debate with highly qualified and active professionals in the sector.
WTM Latin America will be held in August 2021 and, within the content schedule, the event will have a program dedicated to Responsible Tourism, with panels, conferences and presentation of successful cases around the world.
