Currently, Colombia is ranked 19th globally in terms of energy sustainability; However, when the daily practices of its population are evaluated, and especially in the development of its tourism, the country is behind the 50th position. For this reason, for a couple of years it has been immersed in a process of "reconversion" of its tourism towards a sustainable model, with a strong acceleration from the start of the pandemic.
Santoro shared the panel with Aileen Clemente, President of Rajah Travel Corporation; Brett Tollman, CEO of The Travel Corporation and Frank R. Rainieri, President & CEO of Grupo Puntacana.
Another important news during the WTTC Summit has been that Gilberto Salcedo, Vice President of Tourism at ProColombia has received the global award "Top performer" that recognizes the contribution to growth and positive impact in the travel and tourism sector.
