Mon May 03, 2021

The changes put into practice affect those who come from the United Kingdom, South Africa or South America and do not affect passengers in transit

Travelers from the United Kingdom, South Africa or South America must bring a negative PCR or antigen test a maximum of 48 hours before their arrival in Panamanian territory. In addition, when entering Panama they must carry out a molecular Covid-19 test at their own cost and remain in quarantine for 3 days in a Covid-19-free hotel. On the third day of stay, they will be given a new test which, if negative, ends the preventive confinement.
If upon entering Panama the test is positive, the traveler must quarantine for 14 days in a hotel / hospital receiving the appropriate treatment.
The Ministry of Health (MINSA) emphasizes that this measure applies to people who enter both by private or commercial means, by air, land or sea and upon arrival in national territory must pay the cost of a second test prior to registration in Migration .
It is reiterated that any person who arrives in Panama from these countries that, even if the test is negative, must comply with their isolation for three days at their home, if they are national or resident in the country, or in a non-Covid traveler surveillance hotel 19.
