Chile Virtual Expo Tourism: the first multi-market digital fair to reactivate tourism

The 100% digital event will serve as a showcase for the Chilean exportable offer of the tourism sector to generate commercial contacts with buyers from all over the world

Between June 8 and 10, Chile will host an unprecedented fair for the national tourism sector: Chile Virtual Expo Tourism, an event that will bring together in a single platform the offer of 200 Chilean tourism companies that will show the world the attractions tourist of the country.

Thanks to an alliance between ProChile, Sernatur and the Undersecretariat of Tourism, this free fair will be held, 100% online, which can be accessed from anywhere in the world. It is expected to have the presence of guests from the tourist demand that is part of the priority markets for Chile, such as Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, the United States, Canada, Spain, France, Germany, England and China, among others. . The call was also extended to the tourism industry in other markets, since the fair is global in nature.

In this regard, the Undersecretary of Tourism, José Luis Uriarte, pointed out that, in the new post-pandemic context, “Chile has a lot to offer travelers who will seek health-safe spaces and diverse experiences, far from mass tourism, much more linked to open spaces and in contact with the natural and authentic. This fair is a very important initiative for the reactivation of national tourism activity, as it allows us to maintain commercial links and strengthen international promotion efforts with the participation of 200 national tourism companies, which will contact travel agencies and tour operators from various markets ”.

As the undersecretary pointed out, in addition to maintaining the tourism promotion actions of our country that have been carried out for years, Chile Virtual Expo Tourism will allow expanding the group of international buyers to promote from the Arica and Parinacota Region to the Magallanes Region and Chilean Antarctica.

Meanwhile, Andrea Wolleter, national director of Sernatur, highlighted the importance of the Chile Virtual Expo Tourism since “it is the first multi-market digital fair that we will have during this semester in the country. We must seek reactivation when sanitary conditions allow it and, in these times, getting on the global trend of virtual events is more than necessary to protect the health of all. This will be a space for commercial interaction for our exportable tourism offer, where national providers and operators will be able to network and find the opportunity for new businesses ”.

A new showcase, a new world
Chile Virtual Expo Tourism, by Sernatur and ProChile, is the most relevant online promotional event for the exportable offer of Chilean tourism services, since it eliminates geographical and time barriers, allowing information to be transmitted throughout the day and in a sustainable way.

In this version dedicated to tourism, the fair will give space to national tour operators with a focus on the entire national territory, the 16 regional offices of Sernatur with the promotion of their destinations, the convention bureaus with their offer for the MICE segment and international buyers, in addition to the participation of ProChile, Chile Travel, Fedetur and Enoturismo Chile, among other institutions.

“As ProChile, we are promoting various actions to encourage the economic reactivation that our country needs and, in this sense, SMEs are a priority and so is tourism. Tourism companies have been particularly hit by the effects of the pandemic, which is why, through our market intelligence and thanks to our 56 commercial offices located around the world, we want to create new contacts that will be useful to them when the health situation allow the reception of foreign tourists in the country ”, highlighted the general director of ProChile, Jorge O'Ryan.

During the three days of the event, attendees will find information on Chilean export service companies, which makes Chile Virtual Expo an excellent tool to promote the development and internationalization of national companies.

Within the fair, each exhibitor will have a virtual stand to display their exportable offer through videos and product catalogs and interact via chat with visitors to the event 24 hours a day.

Chile Virtual Expo seeks to pave the way for the country's economic recovery, in which tourism plays a key role with countless destinations and experiences to offer to the new post-pandemic travel trends.
