PROMPERÚ highlights commitment of regional authorities for safe reactivation
Nature, adventure and gastronomic tourism will be the most developed segments in Central Selva and Oxapampa
The Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ) welcomed the work and initiative of the regional authorities and municipal mayors of the Junín and Pasco regions, which this week received the Safe Travels seal, an international certification that qualifies them as destinations. insurance for the restart of tourist activity.
In this way, the Selva Central (Junín) and Oxapampa (Pasco) destinations add 47 attractions, routes and circuits that already have the sanitary hygiene and biosafety protocols that will give future travelers the confidence to visit this area of the country.
“We congratulate the work carried out by the actors involved in obtaining this seal. We know that it has been the result of joint and articulated work that will be a source of inspiration for more destinations to join in the reactivation of responsible and safe tourism for all. The Central Forest and Oxapampa destinations meet precisely the characteristics that the new traveler seeks, outdoor destinations and spaces that allow us to connect with nature. ”, Said the Director of Tourism Promotion of PROMPERÚ, María del Sol Velásquez.
Indeed, only in the Central Jungle of Junín, the recently certified tourist offer (19) includes lagoons, natural pools, waterfalls, botanical gardens, as well as visits to the native communities of the region, which will allow the development of segments such as nature tourism, experiential tourism and ecotourism.
On the other hand, Oxapampa, developed 6 routes and / or circuits that include routes such as Villa Rica, Chontabamba, Yanachaga Chemillén, Oxapampa, Pozuzo and Huancabamba, ideal points for the practice of cultural, nature, gastronomic tourism and sports of adventure.
“Definitely, obtaining the Safe Travels seals, in addition to giving confidence to travelers, will also create the ideal scenario for the promotion and attraction of private investment to the regions, which will translate into the development of projects that have a positive impact. in the growth of the regional economy, strengthening the country's business sector. ”, said Daniel Córdova, Director of Business Investment Promotion at PROMPERÚ.
The directors of PROMPERÚ attended the delivery of the certification of safe travel of the Central Selva and Oxapampa destinations on behalf of Mincetur and made visits to the Imperitaja or “Tina de Piedra” waterfall located in Satipo and the Río Tigre waterfall in Oxapampa, in company of Regional Governors, Regional Directors of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Provincial and Municipal Mayors of each region.
