The ANATO 2021 Tourist Showcase held the press presentation today
The event will be held in person from June 16 to 18, in Corferias - Bogotá
There are just a few days left for the realization of the ANATO 2021 Tourist Showcase, the first in-person event of the year to be held in Colombia, and a space that will open the doors, not only to tourism but also to the economic reactivation of the country.
Today a press conference was held in the company of Paula Cortés Calle, executive president of ANATO; María Ximena Lombana, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism; Matías Lammens, Minister of Tourism and Sports of Argentina; Ricardo Sosa, executive secretary of Inprotur (Argentina); María Lucía Villalba, vice president of planning and projects at Fontur; Nicolás García, governor of Cundinamarca; and Karol Fajardo, director of the District Tourism Institute of Bogotá.
During the meeting with the media, the expectations and projections for the event and the importance of its realization were announced.
“The Association has worked hard on the planning of version 40, which will take place from June 16 to 18, in Corferias - Bogotá. This professional space, closed to the public, will bring together in the same place, all the actors of the tourist chain to reactivate the commercial alliances that will allow the design of a new offer of travel packages adapted to the new demands of the market. In addition, we have focused on having all the biosecurity measures that guarantee the success of the event ”, stated Paula Cortés Calle, executive president of ANATO. For her part, Ximena Lombana, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism pointed out that the Tourism Showcase is a good start for the management that she is beginning to carry out: “It is time for the reactivation of tourism in Colombia.
Representing Argentina, were present Matías Lammens, Minister of Tourism and Sports of Argentina; and Ricardo Sosa, executive secretary of Inprotur, who assured that, for all the countries of the region, tourism is a point where work must be done; as well as in the exchange of tourists, something that between Colombia and Argentina has had a positive behavior and they highlighted the importance of holding the event in person.
Likewise, María Lucía Villalba, Vice President of Planning and Projects of Fontur thanked ANATO for making the event possible, as an important contributor to the reactivation of the sector: This Showcase will have a very special and particular component for the country, because Colombia will show its leadership in tourism. At this moment the country requires the tourism sector to generate employment and social development ”.
Karol Fajardo, Director of the District Tourism Institute of Bogotá, assured: “as invited destinations we have had a great responsibility and with Argentina, it is an honor to share in the Showcase to lead this process of reactivation for tourism. This joint vision of Bogotá-Region will allow us to have 54 entrepreneurs in the Showcase and that will be an important impact to be able to rebuild the business fabric ”.
Finally, Nicolás García, governor of Cundinamarca stressed the importance of working together from Cundinamarca and Bogota for tourism: “it is an honor; we will show all the tourist offer in an international way. We are eager for the Showcase to start and to receive all our guests. We want them to know all the wonders of our country in one place ”.
The Association, as organizer of the event, highlights some aspects to take into account before attending the ANATO Tourist Showcase.
• For this version of the professional event, it will only be possible to previously acquire the accreditation, through the online registration enabled on the website www.vitrinaturistica.anato.org. This process will be available until June 11.
• In accordance with Resolution 777 of 2021, Colombia eliminated the mandatory nature of the PCR test to enter the country. It will only be necessary to fill out the Check-Mig application form to enter and leave the country, which will facilitate the participation of international businessmen in the ANATO Tourist Showcase.
• The movement of people inside the enclosure will be organized through one-way routes, to avoid crowds, differentiating the entrance and exit doors, which will be duly signposted.
• The capacity of the fair event will be controlled by means of technological tools, both at the entrance to Corferias, as well as inside the pavilions.
“Recently, Claudia López, mayor of Bogotá, announced that, starting today, June 8, there will be a gradual and safe opening of the city's productive apparatus, which motivates us to move forward and continue working to promote recovery. tourism ”, concluded the union leader.
