According to ANATO, based on figures from Civil Aeronautics, Nuquí, Guapí and Bahía Solano have reported between January and May 2021 a reactivation of 126%, 119% and 87% respectively, in the movement of passengers on domestic flights, which which shows that non-traditional destinations are exceeding their records in relation to travelers transported in 2019.
“The situation that we have experienced since 2020 has also been an opportunity for Travel Agencies to diversify their offer in those places that previously did not have so much influx of tourists. Today the trend of the new traveler is to look for tourist attractions of sun and beach and ecotourism and that is why we are working to strengthen these segments, ”said Paula Cortés Calle, executive president of ANATO.
And he added: "We hope that, although these figures have been registered in the low season, whale watching, which occurs between July and October, will boost the reactivation data in these areas."
However, other destinations that have also shown a good level of reactivation in passenger traffic on domestic flights have been Montería (88%), Mitú (88%), San Andrés (83%) and Puerto Inírida (80%), highlighted by its diverse natural offer.
