Europe, the only region where hotel construction has increased
A new STR report reveals that the old continent continues to add new properties year after year despite the effects of the pandemic
According to STR data, at the end of the second quarter of 2021, Europe was still the only region in the world with a year-on-year increase in the number of hotel rooms under construction.

Germany (49,027) and the United Kingdom (36,444) lead Europe in the total number of rooms under construction.

Among the countries in the region, China has the highest number of rooms under construction (290,619), followed by Vietnam (31,732).
