AirEuropa connects Madrid-Samaná for the first time
The route will have a weekly frequency, operating on Saturdays and consolidates the recovery of the Dominican destination
AirEuropa connects, for the first time, Madrid-Samaná, which consolidates confidence in the Dominican Republic destination, in its constant recovery and growth in the arrival of tourists from Spain.
With the incorporation of this new flight, carried out by AirEuropa, and which will have a weekly frequency, operating on Saturdays, by the hand of the tour operator Soltour, in coordination with the Tourism Promotion Office (OPT) in Spain-Portugal, the recovery is reaffirmed sustainable development that Quisqueya has had in the tourism sector in recent months.
Flight UX-335, operated in a Dreamliner Boeing 787-8 aircraft, arrived at the Juan Bosch-El Catey International Airport, in Samaná, with 270 Spanish passengers, which was received by the authorities of Dominican Airports Siglo XXI (AERODOM) and protocol staff from the Ministry of Tourism.
The tourists, who arrived on Quisqueyan soil, after 7:15 on the night of this Saturday, upon entering the country, showed their happiness at the moment that the folkloric ballet of the MITUR waited for them to the rhythm of merengue. It should be noted that a large number of the passengers are families who decided to choose the Dominican Republic to enjoy summer vacations with their children.
Mercedes Moreno, sales manager of the Bahía Príncipe chain, who works with the tour operator Soltour, said that this flight reinforces, not only hotel occupancy, but also the entire chain of tourism values in the province of Samaná.
He indicated that for a month pre-sales have been made with AirEuropa for the entire summer and winter, guaranteeing the arrival of more tourists to Samaná. "This connectivity is super important because it guarantees more employment and an improvement in the economy of the area," he said.
Moreno said that, at present, the hotel has a total occupancy, which is equivalent to 70% of the rooms that the complex has, always complying with the protocols and strict safety and health procedures.
In May of this year, more than 250 leaders of Spanish travel agencies and media carried out the first Mega Fam Trip “Dominican Republic Safe Destination”, to get to know first-hand and promote Samaná as a tourist center with great attractions, achieving this first flight with tourists, who decided to vacation in this Caribbean country.
