Dominican government presents results of the first year of tourism management
President Luis Abinader and Minister of Tourism David Collado reviewed the most outstanding events and shared statistical data
The President of the Dominican Republic Luis Abinader and the Minister of Tourism David Collado have presented together with representatives of the sector and the Tourism Cabinet the results of the first year of management.
According to the report, the Dominican Republic recovered 60,000 direct and 102,000 indirect jobs and received 572,644 tourists in July, added to the more than 2 million received since January, encouraging figures for the country's economic reactivation.
Minister Collado announced that in the first 7 months of 2021 2,470,282 tourists arrived in the country, surpassing the figures for the entire year 2020. He highlighted the important collaboration carried out with the private sector to achieve recovery of Dominican tourism.
The official stated: "I am enormously proud to be part of this recovery. The path continues and the commitment to my country grows every day."
