Volaris (the “Company”) (NYSE: VLRS and BMV: VOLAR), the ultra-low-cost airline operating in Mexico, the United States of America and Central America, reports its preliminary traffic results for July 2021.
In July 2021, demand in the domestic and international market for Volaris increased 23.2% and 10.3%, compared to July 2019, respectively. The Company capitalized on opportunities to add capacity, both nationally (+ 23.3%) and internationally (+ 7.3%), at the same time maintaining a high load factor (89.5%). In July 2021, Volaris carried 2.3 million passengers, a record month, 16% more than pre-pandemic levels.
Breaking demand for July remained as strong as in previous months, despite the Delta variant. We have not seen reductions in travel demand and we reaffirm our capacity growth guide for the quarter of 20-22% compared to the third quarter of 2019. This guide assumes that there is no weakness in demand as a result of the Delta variant.
