As of September 10, the airline will reopen the route that connects the Chilean capital with the paradisiacal Mexican destination


Continuing with its process of gradual reactivation of international operations, LATAM Airlines Group announced that it will resume its Santiago - Cancun route as of September 10. The airline will start this route on a weekly basis, leaving Santiago on Friday at 8:35 a.m. and arriving at the Mexican beach at 2:40 p.m., while the return flight will take off from Cancun the same day at 5:00 p.m. , arriving in the capital of Chile at 02:40 hours the next day.

Starting in October, LATAM will add an additional frequency leaving Santiago on Sunday at 8:35 a.m. to arrive in Cancun at 2:40 p.m. On the way back, it will take off from the Caribbean destination on Monday at 00:30 hours, arriving in the Chilean capital at 10:10 am, local time. The route will be operated with a Boeing 787-9 with capacity for 313 passengers, 283 in Economy and 30 in Premium Business. Tickets are now available through latam.com.

"Mexico is one of the destinations with the greatest openness for international tourism, the reactivation of this route will allow us, not only to be the only airline to offer a direct flight, but also to meet the growing demand for tourism to and from the Mexican destination," he said. Diana Olivares, General Director of LATAM Airlines in Mexico, who added that “Resuming the Santiago - Cancun operation is positive news and a sign of progress in the recovery in the industry, we are very happy to continue with the reactivation of operations in Mexico following all the necessary sanitary measures for a safe trip for all ”.

It should be noted that the airline currently has direct flights to Lima, Peru from Mexico City and to São Paulo, Brazil, from Mexico City and Cancun.
