Antonietta Varlese from Accor joins new team of directors of IGLTA
The Senior Vice President of Communication, Institutional Relations and Social Responsibility of the French chain in South America joins the strategic council of the International LGBTQ + Travel Association
The International LGBTQ + Travel Association announced its new directory for 2021-2022. Four industry leaders, representing four different tourism and hospitality sectors, were appointed for the first time and will begin their two-year term in September 2021.
They are Antonietta Varlese, Senior Vice President of Communication, Institutional Relations and Social Responsibility for Accor South America; Meg Ten Eyck, LGBTQ + Marketing Consultant, EveryQueer Editor, Director of Analytics Strategy at Travel Curator; Justin LaFoe, Disney Park Senior Vice President of Consumer Products and Experiences; and Patrick Pickens of Delta Air Lines.
“We have received more applications for our board of directors than ever, with an incredible variety of experiences,” said former IGLTA board chair Juan Julià, who chaired the nominating committee. “As we move forward and rebuild tourism, IGLTA needs strong strategic leadership. We are confident that Meg, Justin, Patrick and Antonietta will complement the existing board, which is already a dynamic group, and expand the skill sets that we can use for future growth. "
Members of the IGLTA board are selected from a nominating committee comprised of current Board members who cannot be re-appointed and IGLTA members from around the world.
