Peru makes official participation in Expo Dubai 2020
For six months, the country will showcase the biological and cultural diversity of its 25 regions
Peru will participate in Expo Dubai 2020, a mega-event that will take place from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022, and where it will have the opportunity to show the world the best of its gastronomic, tourist and export offerings.
For six months, the country will exhibit all its biological and cultural diversity of its 25 regions, passing through the Andes, the coast, the jungle and our sea. This important international event will give a strong boost to national tourism and export activity, which today is in the process of recovery. We estimate that Peru's participation in Expo Dubai will achieve about US $ 70 million.
The Peruvian pavilion will have 2,500 m2 of built area distributed over four floors, and will have rooms for doing business and a restaurant to promote our gastronomy. Its implementation was in charge of PROMPERÚ.
In a ceremony held at the Lima Convention Center, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Roberto Sánchez, highlighted that participation in Expo Dubai 2020 is in line with the interests of the Government: to achieve sustainable and decentralized tourism and foreign trade , which translates into benefits and opportunities for all Peruvians.
"The Peruvian pavilion will be a space for our tourism entrepreneurs and exporters, 80% of them SMEs from all over the country, to promote unique tourist destinations or exportable inputs, such as alpaca fiber, cotton, superfoods, and thus initiate or promote its internationalization process. Renowned chefs, artisans and musicians will do the same to raise the name of Peru, "he said.
At Expo Dubai 2020, there will be business rounds, business meetings, coordination meetings, gastronomic and cultural activations. In this framework, the Peru Fashion and Peru Natura - Dubai forum, the Peru Food and Drinks Expo, the business conference for decoration products and hotel items for the Horeca sector (hotels and restaurants), among others, will also be held. activities.
It should be noted that Peru's participation in this international event has also been possible thanks to the work of the multisectoral committee created for this purpose, the commitment of talented Peruvians and the companies that are betting on this great event, such as DP World, Pisco 1615 and Flo Trading, who became the first sponsors.
During the event a preview of what will be the Peruvian pavilion was shown, the same one that has the Timeless Peru concept ('Eternal Peru' or 'Timeless Peru'). Precisely, through this message, the Peruvian exhibition will offer a sensory experience through our historical and culinary legacy, in a pavilion that will have a giant lliclla on the façade and which will be accessed through a replica of the last Inca bridge: the Q'eswachaka.
The Peruvian pavilion will be strategically located in the 'Mobility' area of the Expo, in a space with a large flow of public that will guarantee a high number of visitors during the six months that the event will last.
