Guanajuato is a trend in romance tourism at an international level
More than 100 wedding planners will hold weddings in the Mexican destination
According to the 2019 State Visitor Profile of the Guanajuato Tourism Observatory, 270 thousand people visited the entity for this reason, of which 43 thousand were of international origin, as announced by Juan José Álvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of the state of Guanajuato, during his presentation "In Guanajuato, this is how romance is lived!" at the LAT Wedding Congress.
This congress is organized by Kitzia Morales, co-founder of IADWP (Internartional Association of Destination Wedding Professionals) and was held at the Hotel Princess Mundo Imperial in the Diamante Riviera, Acapulco, and had the participation of SECTUR, through the Coordination of Attention to Specialized Segments.
In this 11th. Edition, also participated Guadalupe Álvarez, president of the Association of Weddings, Events and Venues (ABER) of Guanajuato; Alicia Torres Morales, director of the Association Of Bridal Consultants (ABC) Guanajuato chapter; and Felipe Becerra, Wedding Planner DiEventi León, at the round table “Love is back in Guanajuato”.
In both participations, the leaders of Romance Tourism in Guanajuato highlighted that the 8 municipalities with a romantic vocation: San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato capital, León, San José Iturbide, Mineral de Pozos, Dolores Hidalgo, Jalpa de Cánovas and Salvatierra, are destinations with a great diversity of tourist attractions and products, as well as local suppliers focused on this segment.
"Guanajuato is such a privileged destination and blessed by the bride and groom," said Álvarez Brunel, referring to the fact that these destinations offer weddings, marriage proposals, bachelor parties and honeymoons, led by professionals from local suppliers (florists, cameramen, banquets, etc.).
In addition, the destinations have “incredible architecture, vineyards, former farms, gardens, halls, ranches, houses, terraces (…), to hold very sophisticated events such as Mexican, Persian, Chinese, or Jewish weddings, these preparations are not offered by other destinations "Said Guadalupe Álvarez.
To make these romantic events a reality, the entity has more than 100 wedding planners, more than 300 wedding venues, more than 350 hotels and 11 thousand room nights and about 4 thousand tourist companies.
Currently, more than 3,000 tourism companies, including Wedding Planners, have registered for the Guanajuato Sano Distinction, which establishes the best prevention and protection practices for the correct reopening of services in tourist destinations.
