Avianca reactivates the Bogotá - Rio de Janeiro route
The airline will operate 6 weekly flights with capacity for 150 passengers
At 10:35 pm on Wednesday, September 1, the first flight to resume operation between these two cities took off from Bogotá's El Dorado airport bound for the RIOGaleano air terminal in Rio de Janeiro.
With the AV261 taking off, Avianca reactivates its operation between Bogotá and Rio de Janeiro, and continues to offer greater connectivity opportunities for its travelers between Colombia and Brazil, in one of the most robust networks in the region.
The airline will operate 6 weekly flights between Bogotá and Rio de Janeiro in Airbus A320 family aircraft, which have a capacity for 150 passengers. This will translate for the market and for customers into a total offer of about 1,000 chairs per week available.
“In line with our commitment to reactivating tourism, the economy and the connectivity of our clients, we have resumed two routes that connect Colombia with Brazil. The first of them, between Bogotá and Sao Pablo, which resumed operations in July; And now, we are betting again with direct flights between Bogotá and Rio de Janeiro. Currently, Avianca offers its customers one of the most robust networks in Latin America with 99 routes, more than 2,680 flights per week and nearly 400,000 weekly seats.
