Secretary of Tourism of Mexico begins promotional tour in the United States
Miguel Torruco Marqués is accompanied by several state Secretaries of Tourism, tour operators and managers of various airlines
The Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marqués, began today a two-day work tour in Los Angeles, California, the first state of the American Union to send tourists to our country.
With this trip, the head of the Ministry of Tourism begins in 2021 the "Operación Touca Puertas" Program in the United States, together with the Secretary of Tourism Development of Yucatán, Michelle Fridman Hirsch; the Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, Juan José Álvarez Brunel; the general director of the Nuevo León Tourism Development Corporation, Miguel Ángel Cantú González; Rubén Roa Dueñas, Undersecretary of Tourism of Baja California; and Eleazar Gamboa de la Parra, Durango Secretary of Tourism.
Tour operators, businessmen and managers of airlines such as Aeroméxico, Volaris and Viva Aerobús will also take part.
During the tour, Secretary Torruco Marqués will meet with the Consul General of Mexico in Los Angeles, Ambassador Marcela Celorio; California tour operators; leaders of the Mexican-American communities in this city; investors; and with the group of 50 prominent Mexican-American businesswomen chaired by the distinguished Rosario Marín, who served as Treasurer of the United States Government during the term of President George W. Bush.
He will also have a meeting with the Mexican consulates in the region: Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Ana, San Bernardino, Oxnard, Fresno and Calexico.
In addition, he will give a press conference with the media and hold various personal interviews with various of these media.
During the development of this work agenda, the head of Sectur will discuss with businessmen from the California tourism sector the plans, new and future tourism products of the Government of Mexico; In addition, it will also take advantage of these meetings to invite them to the 45th edition of the Tianguis Turístico, which will be held from November 16 to 19, in Mérida, Yucatán.
This tour to Los Angeles, later this year, will be followed by others to Chicago, New York, Houston and San Antonio, states that represent 40 percent of outbound tourism to Mexico from the United States.
