ABAV Expo & Collab 2021 started in Fortaleza
The 48th edition of the event takes place over 3 days at the Centro de Eventos do Ceará
This Wednesday, October 6, ABAV Expo & Collab began its 48th edition with 184 exhibitors and more than 50 training courses given by Vila do Sabre. With nearly 11,000 pre-registered participants, this year's edition is pioneering as the largest multiplatform event in Brazil.
At a press conference, the president of ABAV Nacional, Magda Nassar, highlighted the importance of this pioneering spirit for the sector. “It is the first event that can receive up to 3,000 people simultaneously, in person, which is a record for the pandemic. The protagonist exists and was born here in Ceará ”.
According to Nassar, ABAV's objective is to incentivize the domestic market. "The strength of ABAV Expo & Collab, as the largest tourism event in history, is to bring Brazil home, to bring travel agencies to Brazil."
For the Minister of Tourism Gilson Machado, Brazil, and especially the Northeast, has great potential for recovery, especially in air transport. “We have a very large catalog. For example, the Northeast today is one of the places that has immense potential and nothing compares to it ”. In addition, the official reinforced the support that the Federal Government is giving to the sector.
Regarding tourism in Ceará, the Secretary of Tourism Arialdo Pinho reinforced that the state continues to work for the sector, including for fairs and conventions. “We participate in all the fairs. We are working, opening new destinations, opening new hotels, gradually returning with international flights ”.
Association with Embratur
Also present at the press conference, the President of Embratur Carlos Brito, revealed very important news for tourism in Brazil. In alliance with ABAV Nacional and the Ministry of Tourism, Embratur will launch a training and business generation action. The idea is to promote Brazil internationally. "We understand that we need to train all people so that we can also transmit the necessary information for all international trade so that they can really know our destinations." The action will take place on November 23, from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, and should reach different markets, such as Europe and Asia, and will be simultaneously translated into more than 20 languages. The 48th ABAV Expo & Collab takes place until tomorrow at the Ceará Events Center, in Fortaleza, with the sponsorship of the National Confederation of Trade in Goods, Services and Tourism (CNC) and the National Sebrae.
