Recife hosts meeting of Mercosur Tourism Ministers
The event will take place on October 21 and 22 and will address issues of common interest, including the resumption of tourism activities in the post-pandemic period
The city of Recife (PE) will host, this week, the Meeting of Mercosur Tourism Ministers. The event, which will take place on October 21 and 22 in the capital of Pernambuco, will bring together, in addition to the Ministry in Brazil, the Tourism Ministers of Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.
Among the topics to be discussed during the meeting are the joint tourism promotion in distant markets, the impacts of the bi-oceanic corridor in the tourism sector, the harmonization of biosafety protocols and nature tourism as an important vector for the resumption of activities in the sector in the post-pandemic period.
“The holding of the Mercosur Tourism Ministers meeting at a challenging time like the one we are experiencing reaffirms the commitment of Brazil and other countries of the bloc with the resumption of tourism activity. I have no doubts that the ideas and actions discussed in this meeting will open up new perspectives to promote the recovery of the sector ”, assessed the Minister of Tourism, Gilson Machado Neto.
The meeting will also have a prior technical meeting that will discuss, in addition to the aforementioned topics, actions for the Fishing Tourism segment and investment possibilities for the sector in the Mercosur countries.
