CATA seeks to accelerate and transform tourism by 2022
Authorities from Central America and the Dominican Republic participated in the LXV Ordinary Meeting of the Board of Directors to analyze the actions carried out and plan for next year
Ministers of Tourism, as well as Presidents of the Chambers of Tourism of Central America and the Dominican Republic developed the LXV Ordinary Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Central American Tourism Promotion Agency (CATA, for its acronym in English) to analyze the actions carried out by the regional bloc in the stage of tourist reactivation that crosses the isthmus.
The meeting was held under the leadership of Guatemala, a country that holds the Pro Tempore Presidency of the Central American Tourism Council (CCT), and thus leads the actions promoted by the CATA Board of Directors.
In this sense, the Minister of Tourism of Guatemala Mynor Cordón indicated “This is a moment in which all countries are seeking in an accelerated way the tourist reactivation, but also the transformation of the sector, so I want to highlight the importance of further enhancing the strategic synergy between the public and private sectors in order to move towards full recovery with the contribution and participation of each of the sectors that make up the value chain ”.
At the end, the Tourism Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to continue working with their eyes on 2022, as the year that allows the highest levels of recovery in the tourism industry to be achieved, betting on strengthening the capacities of tourism MSMEs, as well as greater integration and promotion of the complementary offer between Central America and the Dominican Republic.
