The Executive Secretary of the Tourism Cabinet will present the recommendations to President Cortizo Cohen for the reopening of the sector


The first four activities approved, for the moment, as part of the economic reactivation are: Flower and Coffee Fair, in Boquete, from January 13 to 23; La Chorrera International Fair, from January 26 to February 6; International Fair of San José de David, from March 10 to 20; and the Azuero International Fair, from April 21 to May 1.

These activities seek to support merchants, projecting economic benefits in the order of B /. 154,785,000, in these regions of the country.

After the announcement made by the President of the Republic Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, about the restart of the fair activities for the year 2022, the Executive Secretariat of the Tourism Cabinet was appointed, together with an inter-institutional working table, for the evaluation and presentation of the recommendations for reopening, complying with all sanitary protocols, in order to guarantee the biosecurity of attendees and exhibitors. Recommendations will be released as soon as they are approved.

Last Thursday, October 21, the interinstitutional working table formed by the Ministry of Agricultural Development, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Ministry of Culture, Tourism Authority, Authority for Government Innovation, was installed. Meritorious Fire Department, National Civil Protection System, Secretariat for Follow-up to Execution and Compliance, Secretariat for Social Affairs and the Secretariat for the Tourism Cabinet.

After the formation of the work table, the Tourism Cabinet and other institutions moved to the district of Boquete, where the executive secretary of the Tourism Cabinet, Samir Gozaine, representing the Ministry of the Presidency, informed the representatives of the Board of Trustees of the fairs the activities approved for next year, in a meeting sponsored by the National Directorate of Fairs of the Ministry of Agricultural Development.

During the meeting, details concerning the development of these activities were expanded, such as: biosafety measures, sanitary protocols, public security, among others.
