The activities of the Tianguis Turístico begin
Prior to the event, authorities presented new investments in southern Yucatán
Prior to the 45th edition of the Tianguis Turístico de México that will take place from November 16 to 19 in Mérida, Yucatán, the Governor of the entity, Mauricio Vila Dosal, accompanied by the Secretary of Tourism of the Federal Government (Sectur) , Miguel Torruco Márqués and the Secretary of Tourism Development of Yucatán (Sefotur), Michelle Fridman, toured the south of the entity to learn about some of the new tourism products of the entity.
During this work tour, the officials visited the Haciendas and Cenotes region plus the Puuc Route, which today constitute a tourist reference of the State and are in the process of creating other anchor attractions for Yucatán and the country in general, with Cenotes and Hacienda Mucuyché being the first point of the route where the presentation of the Camino del Mayab was made by the owner of Sefotur.
This space will give attendees the opportunity to find the Mayan essence of the jungle and culture, in a network of more than 100 kilometers of beautiful and ancient roads with historical and natural value, through hiking or cycling that pass through more 30 tourist attractions such as cenotes, farms, communities and Mayan villages. The spectacular view of the cenotes, farms, ecological reserves and, above all, the warmth of the Mayan people, is another of the benefits that this project will offer, informed Michelle Fridman.
He highlighted the importance of this road and its similarity with the successful tourist project of the Camino de Santiago Compostela in Galicia, Spain, which they discovered in 2019 during their attendance at Fitur and it was at that moment that they realized that Yucatán is full of roads - We have sacbes, the Mayan roads; We have the roads where the trucks with the henequen passed in the haciendas, the train paths and an unbeatable scene of species and corners that people can enjoy- so once we returned, a project was planned that will be assimilated to those kinds of experiences.
The intention is that this type of projects not only be improved with infrastructure and development, but also spread to other regions of Yucatán since it is a project that goes hand in hand with that of Aldeas Mayas, being a sign that Yucatán is the best place for rural tourism, continued the owner of Sefotur.
In this same place, the "Launch of Tourism Investments and Products" was carried out with a total private investment of $ 1,139,000,000.00 for the Ruta Puuc region and Mayan villages and $ 1,136,400,000.00 for the Cenotes and Haciendas region.
Investments in this region are part of the efforts made by Yucatán to diversify tourism in Yucatán and promote a greater economic benefit for the Yucatecan population.
To end their visit, they took a tour of Hacienda Mucuyché so that the Federal Secretary could learn about part of the tourist offer of the host state of the Tianguis Turístico.
With this type of investment, the Secretary of Tourism of the Federal Government, Miguel Torruco Márqués assured that since the beginning of this administration the Government of Mexico is based on three basic points, making tourism a tool for social reconciliation, seeking benefits for the population local and product diversification.
For his part, the Governor of Yucatán, Mauricio Vila Dosal, said that tourism is a great priority for the State, through which new and better paid jobs have been generated, through a policy of attracting investments that has given very good results, but tourism is one of the tools to generate these opportunities in every corner of Yucatan.
Today we can see how we have been generating new tourism products that we have been presenting and are going to present within the framework of this Tourism Tianguis, with more than 27 billion pesos in tourism investments that have been developed in Yucatan that generate new jobs for the communities of the regions outside of Mérida and that represent well-being for the Yucatecans.
Later they moved to the facilities of the Yucatán Siglo XXI Convention and Exhibition Center where they toured and reviewed the progress of the assembly of the stands, the different exhibition areas of the 45th edition of the Tianguis Turístico de México.
