As part of the activities of the 45th edition of the Tianguis Turístico México, which takes place in Mérida, Yucatán, last night the Exchange of Estafeta ceremony was held, in which the port of Acapulco, Guerrero, received her by to host this event in 2022.
The ceremony was led by the Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marqués, together with the Governor of Guerrero, Evelyn Salgado Pineda, and the Governor of Yucatán, Mauricio Vila Dosal.
In his speech, the Secretary Torruco Marqués expressed: “First of all, I want to thank the Governor of Yucatán Mauricio Vila Dosal for the support received for the realization of this 45th edition of the Tianguis Turístico México, which was successfully carried out during these days of pleasant coexistence and wonderful reunion of the tourist family in what we have called "The Renaissance of Tourism in Mexico".
He added that today, the media will announce the results of this great tourist fair, considered the most important in Latin America.
“On the other hand, I am very pleased to pass the baton to the Governor of the state of Guerrero, my good friend Evelyn Salgado Pineda, who will undoubtedly support the Sectur team for the realization of the 46th edition of the Tianguis Turístico México, Acapulco 2022", he said.
He concluded by highlighting that, “once again, thanks to all the participants for being witnesses of this great event that gave the starting signal for the rebirth of tourism in Mexico and Latin America. Thank you very much and see you in Acapulco 2022”.
For his part, Governor Vila Dosal thanked Secretary Torruco Marqués for his contribution. “Thank you for all the support you gave us to be able to host and develop this event, but above all for your support and for the great results we have seen at the tables, in all the work that has also been done and that has been seen. reflected in Yucatán”, he expressed.
He added that for his state it has been a great honor to have been able to receive all the members of the tourist family, to whom they offered a little of their culture and traditions.
“That is why we wanted to organize this Tianguis in Yucatán. I hope they return, that they bring us tourists, opportunities to do business, because that is what this Tourist Tianguis is about, to be able to see and do together from Yucatan the rebirth of tourism for our states, for Mexico and for the whole world ”, he assured.
In turn, the governor of Guerrero, Evelyn Salgado Pineda, stated: “I am honored to receive the message from the hosts of the 45th edition of Tianguis Turístico. This event represents much of what we are capable of doing and the tourist wealth of our country”.
He argued that it also represents an opportunity to reinvent ourselves and show the world the greatness of Mexico and all its diversity.
“We are a strong and united people and that is why our country is in recovery; There is no better showcase for this activity than the Tourist Tianguis, which gives us the opportunity for next year to continue with the reinvention of our destinations. Today we inaugurate the beginning of a more prosperous future for our people and in Acapulco, with the support and effort of the people of Guerrero, we are going to give
continuity to each and every one of the tourism work”, he indicated.
He assured that Mérida has set very high expectations for next year's edition, “it is difficult, but we are going to try. Rest assured that Acapulco and all of Guerrero will live up to history, proving once again that our state is the spearhead of tourism in Mexico. Everyone will be welcome and we will receive them with open arms”, he pointed out, also with the presence of Avelina López Rodríguez, Municipal President of Acapulco.
