Amadeus, a leading company in the provision of technology for the travel and tourism industry, participated actively and prominently in the Tianguis Turístico 2021, the most important promotional event in the tourism sector aimed at professionals from the national and international industry which was held in Mérida, Yucatán, after a year of interruption by the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the head of the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR), Miguel Torruco Márques, tourism will represent around 7.2% of the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by the end of 2021, so these types of events and strategies are priority for the reactivation of the tourism sector. For this reason, Amadeus is committed to programs that contribute to this reactivation through agreements with the Government of the State of Guerrero, companies such as ADO, I'm Sano and associations such as Fematur.
In addition, as a leader in the tourism industry, Amadeus works with its partners and customers to restore traveler confidence, launching specific projects to adapt to new global travel regulations and requirements. It is also developing the Safe Travel Ecosystem initiative to enable safe travel in the new normal.
