The event organized by IFEMA MADRID will be held in person under the slogan "We embrace the world" and will present the Dominican Republic as a partner country
After the milestone that was held by the celebration of FITUR 2021, in its edition "Special Recovery Tourism" and with the support of the entire value chain of the international tourism industry, the Fair turns to its essential mission of contributing to the recovery of tourism .
This is revealed by the growth of 53%, which is already recorded in this next edition, compared to 2021 and the forecast to continue increasing this participation, which advances in the trend of participation prior to the pandemic and which reinforces the role of FITUR as a fair leader in the world.
The representation of the Spanish tourism industry is already confirmed at its highest level, with regard to Autonomous Communities and Cities, and also very positively with regard to companies, to which must be added the growth of official participation International which is located, 2 months after the celebration, above 70% with respect to the results of FITUR 2020, and represents a growth of 240% compared to the May 2021 edition.
In this way, FITUR 2022, aligned with factors such as the gradual normalization of tourism activity, and the support represented by its declaration by the Government as an Event of Exceptional Public Interest, in addition to the important support it receives from institutions, countries and destinations, chains hotels, agencies and tour operators, technology companies, suppliers, means of transport and in general the entire tourism value chain, will once again make all its resources available to this industry in its main mission of helping to accelerate the recovery of tourism and make the sector grow.
In this sense, and together with the promotion platform towards the world that the celebration of FITUR means, the fair continues to develop its professionalization and specialization strategy by addressing the different segments that act as dynamizers of the tourism market, in its FITURTECHY sections; FITUR KNOW HOW & EXPORT, FITUR MICE; FITUR HEALTH; FITUR ENTERTAINMENT; FITUR TALENT; FITUR LGBT + and FITUR WOMAN, as well as in the B2B events and activity programs that will show the professional some of the keys and challenges for the future, with special attention to the digital transition, technological advances and sustainable development. Along with these sections, the FITURNEXT Observatory will be dedicated this year to promoting good tourism practices in terms of accessibility.
The entire FITUR offer will be spread over 8 pavilions with the following articulation: America in Pavilion 3; Europe and the Middle East, Hall 4; Asia-Pacific and Africa, Hall 6; Spanish Official Entities and Bodies, pavilions 5, 7 and 9; Companies and Travel Technology in Halls 8 and 10.
In addition, this year the Dominican Republic will be the FITUR Partner Country so it will have an outstanding presence and strategic visibility to publicize the country's great tourist attractions. This is the second time that the Dominican Republic has the category of 'FITUR Partner', since it was already in the FITUR 2019 edition and so far it is the only destination that has repeated with this collaboration. The Dominican Republic is presented in this way at FITUR to highlight the warmth of its climate and the hospitality of its people, its connectivity with more than 1,400 airports in more than 170 countries, as well as the good management carried out in the face of the pandemic in terms of protocols for tourism, vaccination of the local population and especially of workers in the tourism sector.
