The operations will be carried out three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, in a Boeing 330 with a capacity of 262 seats

Aerolineas Argentinas (AR) restarted its operations this Monday with flights from Buenos Aires to Punta Cana, after they were suspended due to the global health situation due to Covid-19.

The reestablishment of the flights of this airline to Dominican territory, shows recognition that this destination is safe and reliable and reaffirms the constant growth in the arrival of tourists to the Caribbean country registered in recent months.

The operations will be carried out three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, in a Boeing 330 with a capacity of 262 seats, from the Ezeiza airport in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to the Punta Cana airport in Quisqueya.

The first post-pandemic passengers from the South American country arrived in the Dominican Republic on flight 1324, complete according to the capacity allowed by the health security protocols and were received by the folkloric ballet of the Ministry of Tourism, directed by Oscar Batista.

"The resumption of Aerolineas Argentinas flights as of January 3, 2022, will undoubtedly mark the beginning of the recovery of the Argentine market for our country," said Rhina Olivares, director of the Republic Office of Tourism Promotion (OPT) Dominican in Argentina

He said that currently the Dominican Republic remains among the countries most requested by Argentines seeking the sun and beach segment.

He indicated that the preference of the Caribbean country as a tourist destination is also due to the good management carried out by the Dominican Government to maintain and offer a reliable, safe place with entry and circulation requirements in line with the present and easy to use.

“The demand of Argentines for the Dominican Republic as a holiday tourist destination exceeds the available air seats, a situation that we hope will improve in the coming months. For our part and from our place we will be accompanying and supporting this to happen ”, said Olivares.

Argentina for years remained among the ten main source markets to the Dominican Republic. In 2018 it was in 4th position, with 219,027 passengers, and in 2019 it scored 5th place, with 186,419 visitors.
