Aeroméxico reports traffic results for December 2021
The airline transported 1 million 744 thousand passengers, a mark equivalent to 98.9% of the levels of December 2019
Grupo Aeroméxico SAB de CV ("Aeroméxico") (BMV: AEROMEX) reported today the operating results for December 2021.
The airline transported 1 million 744 thousand passengers in December 2021. It marked an 11.6% growth in domestic trips compared to December 2019, while in the international market it reached 77.5% of 2019 levels.
Total capacity, measured in available seat kilometers (ASK), stood at 82.6% of December 2019 levels. Domestic capacity increased 13.6% compared to December 2019 and the international ASK recovery reached 70.7% from December 2019 levels.
Demand, measured in passenger-kilometers (RPK), stood at 81.6% of December 2019 levels. Domestic demand increased 17.2% compared to December 2019, while international demand represented 68.3% of 2019 levels.
The load factor for December was 80.3%, a decrease of 0.6 pp compared to December 2019. The domestic load factor was 81.9%, an increase of 2.5 pp compared to December 2019. The international load factor was 79.4%, a decrease of 2.1 pp compared to December 2019.
During December 2021, Aeroméxico extended its operations from the Mexico City International Airport (AICM) to Terminal 1, offering 20 daily departures. Aeroméxico moved the operations of nine national routes to T1: Campeche, Durango, Los Mochis, Matamoros, Nuevo Laredo, Reynosa, Tampico, Zacatecas and Zihuatanejo. In addition, Aeroméxico began to operate the Monterrey - Madrid, Guadalajara - Madrid and Cancun - Sao Paulo lines with three weekly frequencies for each route.
