When the world put travel on pause, IHG Hotels & Resorts saw an opportunity to reconnect and learn from its guests and owners. The company made big and bold investments, transforming its portfolio with exciting brands and creating more meaningful experiences, all under the new master brand IHG Hotels & Resorts.

As guests embark on a new era of travel and the industry continues to recover, the company revisits its pioneering loyalty program and makes one of its most significant investments to date.

In recent years, IHG Rewards has evolved to meet the needs of its current and future members, with world-class alliances, such as integration with the exclusive portfolio of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, which expands its offer, as well as the rates dynamic  Rewards Nights  that provide guests with greater value and flexibility.

Now, IHG Rewards, the world's first and one of the largest hotel loyalty programs, announces the first of many changes to come in the coming months: A new tier and points bonus structure, launching next March and is designed to help members earn more points, faster, and have more ways to use them than ever before. These changes include:

  • The new Gold Elite level starting at 20 nights, with an industry-leading 40% bonus point rate
  • Renamed tier 'Spire Elite' to 'Diamond Elite' to simplify members' recognition and understanding of this, as the highest tier, which will retain its 100% bonus structure.
  • Improving bonus points levels at all Elite levels
