The Secretary of Tourism Miguel Torruco Marqués announced the actions that they undertake in conjunction with the Government of Zacatecas

When inaugurating the exhibition “Taste, Traditions and Culture. Dazzling Zacatecas” in the “Punto México” space of the Ministry of Tourism, highlighted the tourist attractions of Zacatecas such as the Mirador del Cerro de la Bufa, the Archaeological zones of La Quemada and Altavista, the Sierra de Órganos National Park, the Mina del Eden and the Historic Center of the city of Zacatecas, named Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 1993.

The head of Sectur specified that they have worked with the private initiative and the state government in the creation of anchor products, as well as international events such as Down Hill Zacatecas, an urban downhill race on bicycles through the streets of the city, where 40 athletes from 15 nations will participate. He announced that “Skyline Zacatecas” will soon be announced, a tricks competition on tightrope that will be attended by 20 athletes from 10 countries, of which more details will be announced later.

In terms of training, he stated that Sectur is working on product integration workshops to promote Romance Tourism and LGBT+, niches that are increasingly motivating travel.

Torruco Marqués also reported on the strengthening of the “Ángeles Verdes” General Directorate of Tourist Services, which currently has 16 units. "The governor and a server agreed to renew the vehicle fleet under a co-investment scheme, the State Government will contribute eight units and Sectur another eight, between 2022 and 2023."

He added that the Georeferencing Satellite System was launched to locate the Corporation's units, which will allow data such as the name of the operator and estimated service time.

The head of Sectur highlighted that through the "Sustainable Mexico Renace" program, two tourism projects were launched in forest communities in the municipalities of Santa María de la Paz and Benito Juárez in order to consolidate them as social enterprises.

To strengthen the tourist promotion of Zacatecas, the Secretary of Tourism confirmed the participation of the state's tourism sector in the strategies promoted by the federal agency during this year, such as the International Tianguis de Pueblos Mágicos that will be held from April 22 to 24 in Barcelona, Spain; as well as the 46th edition of the Tianguis Turístico de México from May 22 to 25 in Acapulco, the Third Tianguis Turístico Digital in November and the Fourth Tianguis de Pueblos Mágicos that will take place in October in the city of Oaxaca.

Respecto a capacitación y profesionalización, Miguel Torruco destacó que se trabaja de la mano con los empresarios del sector turístico de Zacatecas para aprovechar los cursos que imparte a través de la Dirección General de Profesionalización y Competitividad Turística como: Integración del Producto Turístico; Financiamiento para MIPYMES Turísticas, Integración del Producto Gastronómico Sostenible y Cadenas de Valor Alimentaria; y Turismo Incluyente para la Actualización de Guías de Turistas, entre otros.

For his part, the Secretary of Economy of Zacatecas, Rodrigo Castañeda Miranda, highlighted that the exhibition inaugurated in "Punto México" is an exhibition to present the works carried out by outstanding craftsmen of silver, Wixarika art, as well as other artistic expressions for share with the world the heritage of Zacatecas. He commented that the participation of MSMEs is promoted in sites such as "Punto México" and a financing program was created to expand the businesses and workshops of artisans, as well as a digital platform for the sale and exhibition of products.

On his occasion, the Secretary of Tourism of Zacatecas, Le Roy Barragán Ocampo, pointed out the importance of tourist activity in the entity, mainly supported by the migrant community of Zacatecas in the United States, with a population of 1.6 million inhabitants who live in the North American country.

He congratulated the federal Secretary of Tourism for the organization of world-class events such as the International Tianguis de Pueblos Mágicos, which promotes the attractions of the towns with this appointment and of which Zacatecas has six.

The Zacatecan actress, Susana González, expressed her commitment to support the dissemination and promotion of tourism in Zacatecas. Through anecdotes, she described the beauties and attractions that can be enjoyed in the municipalities of the state, such as colonial buildings and natural areas.

At the opening of the exhibition "Taste, Traditions and Dazzling Zacatecas Culture", the Secretary of Tourism was accompanied by María Teresa Inguanzo González, Undersecretary of Tourism Promotion of Zacatecas, as well as Gloria Garza de Torruco, wife of the Secretary of Tourism, who made a tour of the different spaces of the craft show.
