For the second consecutive year, it obtained the world recognition “The Voice of the Passenger” from the Airports Council International


For the second consecutive year, Guanacaste Airport -a member of the VINCI Airports network- obtained the world recognition "The Voice of the Passenger" from the Airports Council International (ACI). The award is granted based on the evaluation made by the passengers and they value the conditions of service, quality and safety offered by the airport.

The data is obtained directly from the passengers who passed through the terminal during 2021 through surveys. The terminal is recognized for the continuous effort it has made during another year of the pandemic and a complex global economic environment.

Guanacaste Airport was the first in Central America and one of the five airports in all of Latin America and the Caribbean, in 2020, to be recognized with this distinction, joining seven other airports in the VINCI network throughout the world, including Chile, the United States and five from Portugal. Maintaining the sanitary and biosafety standards allowed the recognition to be maintained for another year.

“The passenger experience is our priority, we want them to feel safe and listened to. We are proud of the effort made by the 1,400 workers at the terminal to achieve this goal. We are proud to convey the positive mobility of VINCI Airports and continue to be bastions of quality, an unequivocal sign of our commitment to provide the best service, in adherence to health and safety standards,” said César Jaramillo, General Manager of Guanacaste Airport.

We encourage them to continue their excellent performance." commented Dr. Rafael Echevarne, General Manager of ACI-LAC

Guanacaste Airport has worked hand in hand with the Government, the airlines and the entire tourist chain in the region, to make this destination a safe one in times of pandemic. As a result of this, it was consolidated as one of the terminals with the highest traffic recovery in the region, within its category of less than 2 million annual passengers.

Jaramillo added “we have been able to overcome one of the most difficult times in recent years in the world, without neglecting our commitment and promise to the passenger. Once again we confirm that together we can move forward”.

Along with this recognition, Guanacaste Airport enjoys the awards granted by ACI as the Best Airport in Latin America and the Caribbean (less than two million passengers category) for the third year in a row and as the airport with the Best Sanitary Measures in the region, according to the Airport Service Quality Program (ASQ).
