The President of Embratur met in Brasilia with the Director of Tourism of Portugal

The president of Embratur (Brazilian Agency for International Tourism Promotion), Carlos Brito, met with the Director of Tourism of Portugal Lídia Monteiro at the Agency's headquarters in Brasilia. The agenda of the meeting was possible joint actions to strengthen the resumption of the tourist flow between Portuguese and Brazilians during Rock in Rio Lisboa.

“The rapprochement with important promotion organizations such as Turismo de Portugal is essential for new actions to be carried out and for more tourists to come to Brazil. We already met during FITUR, in Madrid, and now we have the opportunity to deepen this contact even more”, said President Carlos Brito.

Accompanying the director Lídia Monteiro, the general director of the House of Moments company, David Sormenho, presented the possibility of Embratur participating in the Casa Brasil project in Lisbon, between June 18 and 26, 2022. Tourist agents and promotion of Brazilian destinations and products at the Palacete Tivoli, in the central area of ​​Lisbon, during the Rock in Rio Lisboa festival, which takes place simultaneously. The traditional place would be decorated to be Casa Brasil in this period, receiving influencers, journalists and representatives of the tourism industry interested in participating in business roundtables.

“Before the pandemic, there were 98 flights connecting Brazil with Portugal. At the moment, they are 45, which reflects an excellent recovery. We hope to increase even more with joint actions”, said Lídia Monteiro.

The president of Embratur thanked the Portuguese guests for their presence and requested that the participation proposal be presented at Casa Brasil in Lisbon so that the Agency's possible participation can be assessed by the technical advisor. "In addition to promoting tourism, which is essential for the resumption, it is important that we take actions to reinforce the Bicentennial of the Independence of Brazil, which is celebrated on September 7, 2022," said Carlos Brito. "We are going to delve into this project and evaluate possible sponsorships," added the president of Embratur, who was accompanied by the manager of International Consulting and Management of Units Abroad, Heitor Kadri, and the manager of Advertising, Propaganda and Digital Marketing of the Agency, Karisa Walnut.
