The measure is already in force for visitors from all countries in the region


On the eve of the Carnival holiday -during which the mobilization of millions of tourists inside and from abroad is expected- Brazil determined that all children over five years of age who enter its territory must present the certificate that they were immunized against Covid -19. According to the new rule, the presentation of the certificate with the complete immunization of the minor must occur at the time of check-in in the case of air travel.

According to the regulations published by the Ministry of Health, the list of countries that have already started childhood vaccination and whose citizens must meet the requirement to enter Brazil are Argentina, Australia, Bahrain, Bolivia, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, China, Cuba, El Salvador, United Arab Emirates, Ecuador, United States of America, Indonesia, Israel, Paraguay, Peru, United Kingdom, Switzerland, European Union, Uruguay and Venezuela.
For children under two years of age, neither a vaccination passport nor a negative COVID-19 test is required, as long as their companions present certificates confirming that they are free of the Covid-19 virus. For children under two years of age, no vaccination certificate or negative COVID-19 test is required, as long as their companions are negative for the disease. Minors who cannot be vaccinated for medical or humanitarian reasons will also be exempt from presenting the vaccination certificate.

The requirements to enter Brazil are the following:
1) Identity document or valid passport, as the case may be.

2) COVID-19 test: negative result of a virus detection test carried out within 72 hours prior to entering Brazilian territory in a laboratory duly accredited and authorized by the authorities of the country of origin. The certificate must be in Portuguese, Spanish or English.

3) Vaccination certificate against COVID-19 for travelers five years of age and older, except for exceptions contemplated in the regulations of the Brazilian Ministry of Health
3) Children under 2 years of age are exempt from presenting the antigen or PCR test, Children under 12 years of age accompanied by their parents or legal guardians who prove their negative RT-PCR TEST. If the minor is traveling alone, she must present a negative COVID-19 test.

4) Present an international vaccination card against yellow fever (the vaccine must be applied at least 10 days before the trip).
5) Complete the affidavit of health found in the link.
