James Rees, President of ICCA has just published a strong statement showing his support for Ukraine. We share the text below:
Having agreed to an urgent board meeting, the ICCA Board of Directors made the decision to cancel all planned activities in Russia. Also, Russian members will not be able to attend ICCA events until further notice.
On behalf of the Board, we categorically and unequivocally condemn the Russian aggression in Ukraine.
ICCA is in contact with our members in Ukraine and we will contribute €10,000 to an agreed humanitarian charity to support them in their efforts to provide aid to Ukrainians suffering as a result of these acts of aggression.
Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this devastating and unprovoked war. We want nothing more than to see an end to this conflict before more innocent lives are lost.
