New Undersecretary of Tourism of Chile assumes her position


Verónica Kunze, an official with more than eight years of experience in the industry, reveals the challenges entrusted by President Gabriel Boric
Verónica Kunze stressed that there are goals set by the new Chilean president. “As a government, our first task is to reactivate the industry after the health emergency. Let us remember that tourism currently employs about 250 thousand women in Chile, that is why we must have as a goal to promote this economic, social and strategic activity for our economy”, said the official.
Likewise, Undersecretary Kunze stated that female labor participation is 47%, becoming one of the highest in the country.
Finally, he stressed that one of the work axes will be sustainable tourism development based on the protection of its cultural, landscape and human resources that the industry involves.
Verónica Kunze Neubauer is an economist from the University of Chile, has a master's degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge, England, and a master's degree in Economics from the University of Chile. She also has doctoral studies at the University of Cambridge.
It has been developed in the areas of management and administration of public and private entities, adding to this academic, research and teaching activities of the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Chile. During the last period, his work has focused on the tourism industry, where his time at the Federation of Tourism Companies of Chile stands out between 2018 -2022 as Manager of Planning and Studies, also between 2014 and 2018 he was in charge of the Studies and Territory Division of the Undersecretary of Tourism.
