The Ministry of Tourism participated in the 36th Porto Alegre UGART Fair

The UGART fair is considered one of the most productive events in tourism business in southern Brazil. It is the ideal setting for the exchange between operators, given that 3,000 professionals from the sector participated and it will have 175 stands.

Uruguay has had an institutional stand of 16m2 and 9 receptive operators and government institutions participate: Sheraton Colonia, Colonia Municipality, Tourist Association of Colonia, Sacramento Management, Hotel Awa, Enjoy, Hotel del Lago & Art Resort, Municipality of Rocha, Rocha's DMO.

After the Coronavirus pandemic, Uruguay resumes the fairs in person, communicating to the world the reopening of its air and land connectivity. It will be the ideal occasion to spread the benefits that Uruguay has for non-resident tourists (see benefits).

Regarding health requirements, Uruguay currently requires antigen tests or PCR to enter the country and the vaccination certificate, filling out an affidavit.

However, the health authorities are evaluating at this time, given the drop in the number of infections as well as the situation at the regional level, lifting the mandatory test for entry into the country, something that could be confirmed for the month of April .

Connectivity
Brazil, Panama and Spain are the countries that have the greatest air connectivity with Montevideo, according to a report published by the Municipality in its Tourist Observatory.

The survey covers the period December 27, 2021 to March 31, 2022 and refers to what the airlines offer for sale in the different marketing channels.

The Brazil-Montevideo route will have 301 flights in this period, provided by the companies Latam, Gol and Azul, from the Guarulhos (São Paulo) and Salgado Filho (Porto Alegre) airports.

In addition, some companies are beginning to report the increase in their number of flights for what will be the autumn-winter season and the increased demand for passengers traveling to destinations such as Brazil.

The entry by land is also enabled and in operation with three companies TTL, EGA and Turil.
