Amadeus partners with Microsoft
Both tech firms look to redefine the digital workspace for business travelers
In recent years, online collaboration and hybrid work environments have been critical to the continued success of businesses. Despite these changes, travel and corporate travel spending have not kept up with the times. Travelers now have to use multiple platforms and apps where they have to log in, search, book, pay and manage their expenses. What if everything could be simplified and done from one place?
Today, Amadeus, in collaboration with Microsoft, takes the first step in their joint vision to redefine corporate travel: Cytric Travel & Expense, Amadeus' online booking and expense management tool, is now integrated into Microsoft 365. Users can plan trips and share trip details with your colleagues without leaving your everyday apps like Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Teams. Booking business travel will be faster and easier than ever:
- One app: Find, compare, or book a hotel, flight, or car without leaving Microsoft Teams
- Easy to share: The only travel and expense tool built into Teams with the ability to share travel information. Share this information through Teams chats to book the same trip as your colleagues
- Time saver: Minimize the time spent organizing trips with colleagues
- Collaboration: Share your trip details with your colleagues and benefit from the connection and collaboration of trips
Coming soon, Outlook calendar calls will populate relevant data before starting the search process, such as preferred departure location, destination based on meeting location, and dates. Flight search results will display recommended options based on flight convenience, price, and user preferences, such as stopovers to avoid. Shorter, cheaper and greener options will be highlighted. Teams will send users prompts to view unallocated receipts, complete their expense reports, and file them on time. All of this will be done using Microsoft's single sign-on service across your entire work ecosystem to access all your travel and expense needs.
This means fewer interruptions to the user's workflow, and less hassle when logging in and switching between applications. The traveler just has to sign in to Microsoft and they're all set.
