The airline carried 2.5 million passengers. This is the highest figure in the entire history of the company

Volaris (the “Company”) (NYSE: VLRS and BMV: VOLAR), the ultra-low-cost airline operating in Mexico, the United States, Central and South America, reports its preliminary traffic results for March 2022.

In March, Volaris capacity (measured in ASMs) increased 61.2% YoY, while demand (measured in RPMs) increased 60.4% YoY; load factor stood at 86.5% (-0.4 pp YoY). During the month, Volaris transported 2.5 million passengers, which represents an increase of 61.8% YoY. In addition, Volaris passenger demand (RPMs) in the domestic and international markets increased by 45.6% and 123.0%, respectively, compared to March 2021.

In the first quarter, Volaris capacity increased 49.8% YoY or 0.5% QoQ. Load factor increased 5.4 pp YoY to 83.5%, derived from demand growth (RPMs) of 60.1%. Volaris transported 7.0 million passengers in the quarter.

Commenting on the March traffic figures, Volaris CEO and CEO Enrique Beltranena said: “Our strong March 2022 traffic results once again demonstrate the strength of demand from the markets where we operate, and our ability to meet with new capacity said demand. At Volaris, we continue to make a disciplined effort to gradually mitigate the increase in fuel prices, through basic rates and additional services, while maintaining healthy load factors.”
