The Colombian hotel chain has achieved a 15% reduction in water consumption, AVA zero contamination and a 20% reduction in Co2 emissions

The Germán Morales Hotels (GMH) chain presented the indicators of its robust sustainability program that covers all the links of the operation of the 11 hotels of the bh, bs, be and Ek brands, and in which directors, collaborators, suppliers and guests directly or indirectly.
Made up of several processes through which it seeks to impact spaces and areas whose correct management benefits the use of natural resources, the hotel organization indicates a 15% decrease in water and energy consumption, an indicator registered in the last five years thanks to an efficient exercise that has allowed it to contribute to one of the most sensitive issues on the planet, such as the excessive consumption of water.
Committed to reducing AVA (atmospheric, auditory and visual) pollution, the GMH chain achieved zero visual and auditory pollution in its facilities. In fact, the spaces of the hotels located in Bogotá, Medellín, Barranquilla and Santa Marta, are recognized spaces of environmental comfort, where workers and guests carry out their activities in a one hundred percent friendly space.
The chain's hotels and stations carry out an annual measurement of the carbon footprint, which has made it possible to certify a reduction of more than 20% in CO2 emissions and other greenhouse gases, this too, in a sustained manner. , in the last 5 years.
In waste management, the hotels of the bh, bs, be, Ek brands have achieved a reduction of more than 50% in paper consumption. To do this, they eliminated the use of white paper; Recycled sugar cane paper is used without bleaching processes. In the consumption of single-use plastic, the reduction has been 85% (replaced by biodegradable packaging). In parallel, they implemented soap and shampoo dispensers and replaced plastic bottles with glass.
In the quest to achieve 360° sustainable management, GMH developed a responsible purchasing program through the non-negotiable decision to acquire biodegradable, organic or low-impact materials and supplies for the environment and to do so from 100% Colombian suppliers and raw materials. .
Another link in the sustainable chain is its participation in the Program for the Prevention of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (ESCNNA). All the hotels in the chain are committed to the prevention of CSEC. For this, they have policies, procedures and action routes to guarantee the protection of children and adolescents in hotels.
Regarding the protection of fauna, flora and prevention of illegal trafficking of species and pieces of cultural value, the Germán Morales Hotels organization is committed through its participation in programs that include information and sponsorships to entities dedicated to their care.
