Promising summer season with increased flights from May


Airlines and tour operators have communicated the increase in frequencies and new routes to the Mexican Caribbean, spearheading the world due to its economic reactivation, implementation of health protocols and diversity of supply thanks to its destinations: Holbox, Isla Mujeres, Cancun, Costa Mujeres , Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel Island, Riviera Maya, Tulum, Maya Ka'an, Bacalar, Chetumal and Mahahual.

Starting in May, Frontier airlines will start their flights from the Houston airports: Hobby with 3 flights a week and George Bush, 4 times a week. And from Tampa to Cancun 3 weekly frequencies. Regarding air connectivity from Europe, Condor increases frequencies in May on its Frankfurt-Cancun route, going from 4 to 5 per week; while TUI announced that they will increase their operations between winter and summer, from the United Kingdom, resulting in the largest capacity they have had in their history from origins such as: Manchester, London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Bristol, Newcastle , among others; in addition to Amsterdam and Brussels to Cancun.

For its part, Iberojet began operations from Lisbon in April; increases its frequencies from Madrid in July and announced the increase in frequencies of its new route that will start in June from Barcelona. AirCaraïbes will start the route from Paris-Orly to Cancun in October with two weekly frequencies and in December it will increase to three. In the case of South America, SKY Airlines will expand its flights from Lima to Cancun on a daily basis as of May 1. Likewise, Volaris will begin to fly that same route, daily, starting in June.

As for Isla Cozumel, in June Southwest will return with flights from Denver and will begin operations from Austin, as will American Airlines with a frequency on Saturdays; the latter increases the route from Miami to one daily flight as of May 5. United Airlines restarts the flight from Los Angeles with a weekly frequency, also in May. Air Canada resumes its flight from Montreal in the same month with a weekly frequency (Tuesday). In the month of June, Suncountry also restarts its flight from Dallas with two weekly frequencies (Thursday and Sunday).

Chetumal airport will receive the second international flight in its operations from Guatemala with G-Airways and will have 3 weekly frequencies, this route will also link Cancun with the state capital in May, thus expanding its air connectivity.
 
With these actions in terms of air connectivity, a promising summer season is estimated for the Mexican Caribbean, promoting the tourist development of Quintana Roo.
