The adventure tourism segment represents revenues of more than $600 billion dollars annually globally

The Government of Panama, represented in the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP), accompanied by the private sector, managed to hold the most important regional conference: "Adventure Next 2023", together with the Adventure Travel and Trade Association (ATTA), the association of the largest adventure tourism companies in the world, will take place in Panama in 2023.

The announcement was made during the Adventure Elevate 2022 annual conference, which took place in Oregon, United States, where the ATP presented its tourism proposal to more than 250 tourism companies.

The conference provided the ideal setting to continue executing the mission of positioning Panama as a tourist destination in a differentiated way, based on our model, in the Master Plan for Sustainable Tourism, which prioritizes the empowerment of communities, highlighting our rich biodiversity and ethnodiversity.

“The official mission represented an important advance in the face of the urgent objective of immediately recovering the number of visitors and exceeding the pre-pandemic figure in our country, standing out in the segment of adventure tourism. A segment that represents more than 600 billion balboas per year in consumption at a global level”, highlighted the administrator of the ATP, Iván Eskildsen.

Adventure Next, which brings together: leaders, ecotourism professionals and decision makers who shape the ecotourism and adventure tourism sector, including tour operators and agencies, took place in Panama in February 2022.

In the surveys carried out after the event, 100% of the participants responded that the event was valuable to them.

The conference, which brought together the main actors of North American adventure tourism, such as: operators, travel consultants, press, directories and representatives of international tourism, was organized by ATTA and cataloged as a resounding success by the more than 100 international businessmen who participated.

With the satisfaction score reached 9.1 out of 10, the highest score than other international conferences organized by ATTA, it validated the country as the venue in the year 2023.
